Various Architectural Illustration Projects (Over Wireframe & Photo-simulation)

These design/build architectural illustrations were done as architectural projects in different locations around the world for various clients through the years. Each of  the clients wanted to see a conceptualization of what a particular building or environment that they envisioned would look like when finished. In many ways, these projects were like helping to make a particular man’s dream come true. Each project was implemented and all of the renderings were used as models for the final builds.
From left to right and top to bottom:
(1)   Design of a desert oasis as part of the Riyadh Airport Development project for the King of Saudi Arabia (photo-simulation)
(2)   Concept for commercial jewelry manufacturing company in Redwood City, California (over-wireframe)
(3)   Stanford University campus extension (over-wireframe)

Port Aventura/Salou, Scene of Coastal Spain in 19th Century

This conceptual design/build rendering is an example of hundreds of renderings I did (over wireframe) to support the creation of a 200 acre, seasonal theme park located on the Spanish Costa Dorada near Barcelona. This rendering shows an exterior scene of coastal Spain in the 19th century.
The park was developed to serve an established tourist market primarily comprised of Northern and Central Europeans. It was intended to evoke the excitement of travel to exotic places. The master plan and subsequent design created  a rich blend of architecture, signage, food presentation; live entertainment, merchandise, rides, and costumes of each “node.” In all the park contains 9 live shows, 15 restaurants, 30 small service sites, 22 shops and 30 rides.
Port Aventura opened in 1994 and exceeded all projections for attendance. Subsequent to opening, controlling interest in the park was acquired by Universal Studios.

Fairy Themes in Childrens' Murals

Each of these  murals, done for childrens' rooms in private homes in Santa Cruz, California, depict a fairy theme.

Interior Design and Mural for Lighting Showroom

I created all of the imagery for this 1200 square foot lighting showroom, located in Santa Cruz, California. I did the interior design for the room, and painted the murals for all four walls and the ceiling. The design and art were intended to showcase the European lighting fixtures, directly imported from Gernany and Italy, and sold by this retail business. Each of the windows in the castle were lit up by (24) LED lights, making for a magical and spectacular display.

Sully's Diner

This is an 11 x17 painting John did as a gift for a man who loves his antique cars. It was originally painted as a watercolor and touched up with acrylic and airbrush. The painting shows the three antique cars against a backdrop of a diner set in the Monadnock mountain region of New Hampshire.
